This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their incredible energy, creativity, and unique ways of thinking. Each one of them learns differently—some need to wiggle, some need to stretch out on the floor, and others focus best with a cozy seat and a little room to move. They are curious, resilient, and eager to learn, and I want to create a classroom that reflects and supports those qualities.
The flexible seating options I’m requesting will help meet my students where they are—literally and figuratively.
Whether it's a wobble stool to help them stay engaged, a floor cushion to encourage focused reading time, or a standing desk for those who need to move, each resource gives my students the power to choose the learning environment that works best for them. By giving them this choice, I’m helping them take ownership of their learning, increase focus, and feel more comfortable and confident in the classroom.
In a world that often asks students to sit still and conform, I want my classroom to be a space where they feel seen, supported, and empowered to be themselves. Flexible seating isn’t just about comfort—it’s about honoring the diverse needs of growing minds and bodies. These tools will give my students the freedom to move in ways that help them stay engaged, reduce anxiety, and build a sense of independence and responsibility for their own success.
When students feel physically supported, their brains are more open to learning, creating, and connecting. This project will help transform our room into a dynamic, student-centered environment that values movement, choice, and the belief that every child deserves a space where they can thrive.
