My Project
Flexible seating will transform my classroom into a space where every kindergartener can learn in the way that works best for them. At this age, students are active, curious, and full of energy. They are not meant to sit still in traditional chairs all day. By offering other options, I can meet their developmental needs while encouraging focus, independence, and collaboration.
These seating choices help students regulate their bodies, which in turn helps them regulate their attention and emotions.
Whether it’s a student who needs to wiggle to stay focused, or a child who feels safe learning in a quiet floor spot, flexible seating empowers every learner to feel comfortable, capable, and confident in the classroom.
When students have the freedom to choose where and how they sit, they take greater ownership of their learning and that’s where the magic happens.
