Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a special education resource room. I take students for small group and/or one-on-one instruction in order to meet their special education needs.
My students are highly energetic and motivated learners.
I work with students with varying disabilities such as ADHD, speech and language impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and learning disabilities. Most of my students are also English Language Learners.
My Project
Most of my students are very fidgety and some are constantly on the go! It is very difficult for many of them to focus and complete their work which is why the Hokki Stools would be beneficial. According to the manufacturer, "The ergonomic stool lets students keep moving, while sitting still. Ideal for group brainstorming, circle time lessons or reading time in an early education environment." Hokki stools would allow my students to move while they work, but they would be moving in a productive, not distracting, way.
Donations for Hokki Stools will help my students to focus better and the stools will allow them to sit and fidget comfortably in a manner that is safe and productive.
Currently, many of my students fidget on the class stools but doing so is very unsafe, and I am constantly having to remind them to sit properly. With the Hokki Stools, they will be able to fidget and move as they wish while completing their assignments.
