Expecting a kindergartner to sit still is an impossible idea! They are bursting with energy and need to wiggle.
My kindergarten students are active, energetic children who love to explore and learn new things.
They come from all kinds of backgrounds and social-economic areas. A roomful of twenty-four children can be pretty distracting. I teach the full day class so we constantly move around to keep them engaged.
My Project
These Hokki Stools will be a great addition to our classroom. I am ordering with a few certain students in mind and a couple extra to add to our teacher table. This will allow the students to be able to move and wiggle their lower body while still focusing on the task at hand. It will allow them to focus more on what I am teaching if their bodies can move at the same time.
This project is very important to me because I want to help every student succeed.
If a child cannot focus because they cannot sit still, then I need to change what I am doing. These stools will help to do that. The expectations placed on kindergarten students these days are sometimes unattainable if a teacher is not willing to find ways to help every student. These will bring some much needed wiggle space to a fun classroom!
