When you enter my classroom I hope you will see the strong bond of my class. My students won’t be quiet. My classroom will be buzzing with collaborative learning, positive encouragement, and excited learners. Students will be facing challenges and conquering tough problems.
When you enter my 5th grade classroom you will find a group of 24 amazingly gifted leaders.
These leaders are constantly challenging themselves and each other. They are asking questions, creating projects, and synergizing together. They work hard and try their best every single day. Each student takes ownership in my classroom by holding a classroom leadership position. They also take ownership of their learning through the use of student leadership binders and student-led conferences. People often say that children are our future. If the future is in the hands of the 24 leaders in my classroom, the future is looking incredibly bright.
My Project
As a teacher, it is my goal to make engaging and hands-on lessons for my students. Student engagement is incredibly important. I believe that young children are very active and they often struggle staying engaged and focused. Last year our classroom received four wobble stools to use in our classroom through DonorsChoose. These stools have greatly impacted student learning and I would love to be able to provide my students with more exciting flexible seating options.
Adding more flexible seating options to my classroom will greatly improve the quality of learning for my students. They will be able to move during lessons and activities without falling out of their chairs.
My students will be able to worry about their work instead of worrying about if they are sitting still enough. These items will be an incredible blessing for the leaders in our classroom and it will give them flexibility as to how and where they learn will learn best.
