My Students
When was the last time you had to sit in an uncomfortable chair, sustain concentration for long periods of time, work hard and prove competency at a complex task? It is expected of students every day in the classroom. It is hard work! Hokki stools make this task a little easier for 3rd graders.
Our 3rd grade classroom is located in Oregon, in a suburb of Portland.
Last year, my class was lucky enough to have a few hokki stools donated to our classroom! The results were amazing! Students didn't have to work so hard to focus on keeping themselves still since the stools allow them to move. They could focus on the task at hand instead. I am hoping that with additional hokki stools in our classroom, even more students stay on task and focused throughout the day
My Project
Much of our day is spent learning at tables or in various places around the room. The Hokki stools will be used at our small group table during reading a math time. Students have the opportunity to move without distracting themselves or others during important learning sessions. Students are also able to take Hokki stools to wherever they are working. No matter what subject or task, sitting still no longer has to be a hindrance.
Your donations help all the students in our classroom.
Students who struggle with sitting in hard chairs or on hard floors benefit from the ability to wiggle while they work. Students who don't struggle with sitting stamina benefit because they aren't being distracted by their friends who need to be moving. Thanks for helping create a win-win situation!
