I teach 12 young learners with intellectual and sensory needs at a Title 1 school in Baltimore, MD. In my classroom, we focus on developing critical life skills that will support them in becoming more independent in school.
My students are inquisitive, active learners who are just beginning their experience in school.
They love to play, move, dance, sing, and explore.
My Project
We need to move! Our classroom is filled with learners who need movement in order to be successful during the school day.
Adaptive seating will allow my students to focus on their learning while getting the sensory input they need.
Wobble chairs can be used in small groups, whole group, or play centers - allowing students to become more engaged with their work. Wobble cushions and floor seats can be easily added to our current classroom furniture to make them more sensory-friendly. The bean bag and tactile pillows will be added to our calming corner in the classroom.
