Wiggle, Focus, Learn: Sensory Supports for Energetic Learners

Help me give my students sensory tools to help them focus, stay calm, feel comfortable, and be successful in their learning environment.

My Project

My classroom is full of bright, creative, and energetic students, many of whom are diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety. These students are eager to learn but often struggle with focus, self-regulation, and staying on task—especially during long lessons or transitions. They don’t lack motivation—they just need the right tools to help their minds and bodies stay calm and engaged.

I am asking for a variety of sensory items such as fidget tools, wobble cushions, resistance bands for chairs, anxiety stress balls, sensory strips for desks and Floor Pillows Cushions.

The fidget tool will help the busy hands stay active so students can concentrate on what’s being taught. Instead of becoming a distraction, fidgets actually support focus and reduce anxiety during learning time. The Wobble Cushions will allow gentle movement while sitting, helping students who struggle to stay still. This helps them stay seated, engaged, and comfortable during lessons. The use of Chair Resistance Bands that will be attached to the legs of chairs, will give students a quiet way to move their legs. They’re especially helpful for students who need to move to stay focused, without distracting others around them.

Squeezing a stress ball can help students manage anxious feelings or restlessness. These tools are simple but powerful by helping kids calm their nerves and stay grounded during the day. These tools will help my students with ADHD manage their energy, reduce anxiety, and increase focus to help make a huge difference in their ability to learn and succeed in the classroom. These tools will give them the physical outlet they need to stay present and participate meaningfully in lessons, group work, and independent learning.
