My Project
Many of my 6th and 7th grade students are well below grade level in math. Because of this, a lot of them do not enjoy math. They have a hard time focusing and remaining on task. Part of that is their struggle with math. The other part is they are kids, many of whom live in apartments, who do not have enough chances for movement during their day. Their bodies need to move. They are not meant to sit still for 7 hours a day.
My students race to class to see who can sit in the one extra office chair I have in my room.
They love this because it allows them to spin slightly while they are working. Flexible seating that allows students some movement is so important, but also very expensive. Any help with this would be appreciated greatly and would really help some of my students maintain their focus.
