My Students

Biotechnology is not your traditional high school science class. In this lab-centered course, students spend about 80 percent of their time in class preparing for labs, completing labs, or concluding their labs. Therefore, Biotechnology students have a much greater need and use for laboratory equipment.

We reach a broad ethnic, socio-economic, and skill-level demographic in this course.

The students in Biotechnology are sophomores through seniors. Because this class is much more lab-centered, students can explore and observe many of the more complex concepts in biology and chemistry rather than just read and hear about these concepts. This approach is much more effective for kinesthetic learners, as well as students with learning difficulties.

My Project

I am asking for two wobble stools that will help students to focus in the classroom. Even though my students are high schoolers, they still fidget and lack focus just like younger students.

The option of flexible seating tools will help students to utilize different surfaces to monitor their behavior and focus better in the classroom.

Standard seating configurations are a time-honored tradition in school, but as we view our students as individuals with unique needs, it is easy to see that having options in seating, ways of presenting information, and assessing learning lead to greater success in the classroom.
