Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have twenty amazing 3rd grade students that show up to class eager to learn, despite the challenges they are faced with, both in and out of the classroom. Our school is a low income Title I school that offers free breakfast and lunch to all children. My students have a wide variety of learning styles and levels, all of which deserve the best education possible. Every student in my classroom is unique, and everyone in the room respects each other. I care about my students and they know it!
My goal, as a bilingual teacher, is to encourage my students to love learning and to develop lifelong independent learners.
I especially love that my students try their best on everything that comes their way. They love to read and enjoy hands-on activities. They are great helpers, and I know I can count on them. Every day, I make sure to instill good qualities that will make them amazing citizens. I want my students to remember me when they grow up, so I make them feel welcome, safe, and important on a daily basis!
My Project
I am excited to celebrate Read Across America week with my 3rd graders! It is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually in the month of March. The first day this year will be on March 2, 2020 which is Dr. Seuss's birthday! I would love to give my students fun themed pencils, pens, stickers, erasers, and bookmarks to celebrate!
Having Dr Seuss themed school supplies will excite my students as we kick off our weekly celebration!
The classroom basics I am requesting are not only fun but essential items my students need to succeed. I plan on giving them all of their Dr. Seuss themed goodies on Monday, March 2nd to kick off Read Across America week. I know my students will be thrilled to have these items to use in class. Please help me bring these fun supplies to my 3rd graders!
