My students need 2 containers of fingerprinting powder, 6 powder applicators, and a fingerprinting identification poster.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Collins's classroom raised $297
This project is fully funded
I am a high school biology teacher in the public school district. My students love to do hands-on activities. However, due to a small budget, my students do not have the opportunity for great labs as the materials are unavailable to them.
In an attempt to get my students more involved in science, I like to do lab activities. With popular television shows such as CSI, Law and Order, and NCIS forensics is a hot topic of interest. Several of my students have shown interest in forensics.
After one student found a lab in the textbook looking at fingerprints, my students have been intrigued. They think that investigating fingerprints would be fun. Fingerprints is a simple and fun activity that my students can easily complete. This lab will make my students feel as if they are an investigator similar to their favorite television series. It will also give them the hands-on experience they enjoy. These materials can be used in several different labs, and be re-used over the next few years.
Solving crimes with fingerprints can bring a whole new experience into my students' academic lives. By donating you will be bringing a real-life application of science to my students. Thank you for all of your help and support!
