On our way to scientific discovery we have lots of student to student discourse. Currently we are using 4-5 sticky notes per student per class period daily AND quite a few pieces of chart paper to see what students are initially thinking about new material. This has become quite expensive. The LCD tablets allow for the removal of lots of sticky note usage, so they can be saved for exit tickets that need to be written out for post class analysis.
The document camera allows concepts to be presented to the entire class on the screen instead of students coming in groups to get information from chart paper.
It would be incredibly beneficial for questions/concepts/texts/drawings to be large enough for the entire class to see at one time, shown text can be annotated for everyone to follow along, our science notebooks will be uniform, everyone will have the same notes when studying for an assessment and lessons can be recorded for students to look at again or for absent students.
