This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth grade students are very loving, caring, and curious. They love being engaged in the classroom and truly appreciate all things donated to the classroom. In addition, these curious fourth graders love learning! My students come from a very low socioeconomic backgrounds and do not have the access to technology.

Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch.

We have the highest rate of ELL (English language learners) in the state and a high number of special education students.

My Project

Last year I came across a series of books called Who Was..? and What Was...? The students absolutely loved them and I could not buy the books fast enough. I recently discovered a few more books that show students Where Is...? These are high interest nonfiction chapter books. I am excited to introduce these books to the students in my classroom this upcoming school year. I also use them during small group/guided reading. These books allow the students to read about history and different ways of life. These books have been nothing but inspirational and a great addition to the classroom!
