This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Here in South Los Angeles, we are having to meet some of the greatest needs with the least amount of resources. 100% of our students qualify for both free breakfast and lunch. Despite the great needs of each student, we are working towards a goal of unity and family in all we do as a class.

Our 6th grade class is fully self-contained and consists of 1 teacher, 1 para professional, and as of today, eleven 6th grade diverse learners.

We are a mild to moderate special education classroom setting and are together all day for all subjects together. As sixth graders, we are all working on adjusting to being at a new school and learning new middle school expectations.

My Project

With stability balls for chairs, my kids will be able to focus longer, while builder stronger bodies! Each of them will be able to have their bodies feel less fatigued, their brains more engaged and their core muscles strengthened.

With new seating, fidgets, and the a revamped classroom library, our scholars will be revitalized in our learning for all subjects.

For this group of learners, this will change their day-to-day access to knowledge. How, You may ask? Because sometimes the only thing that gets in the way of learning is restlessness.
