This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine going to work hungry or worried about issues occurring at home that are out of your control, yet being asked to perform at your best. It's pretty difficult, isn't it?
These are the real everyday situations that my students face.
As a Title I school, 96% of students are Hispanic, 50% are English Language Learners, and 99% of students receive free or reduced price lunch.
Though many of my students face these challenges, they still come to school with a "can do" attitude and give me their best. It is for that reason that I try to make our classroom as homey and comfortable as possible. Students spend their entire day at school and I am working on making that environment a great one in which they will enjoy being and learning!
My Project
Imagine 5th grade students reading while they lie down on a beautiful and comfortable carpet that you helped purchase! Well, this is what I am asking for your help to accomplish.
My students may be towards the end of their elementary career, but they are still kids that love a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment.
I would love to provide them with an awesome classroom since that is where they spend a lot of time in. With the new carpet, students will have a great space to go to when we are learning a new skill or to enjoy while reading their favorite book. Thank you for your consideration and help!
