My Students
My students are an amazing group of seventh graders. Many of them face challenges of learning disabilities and other struggles, but they show up every day ready to learn. The highest expectation in my classroom is that they try, try, try. And then when they’re tired and want to give up, try some more. And they do! I want to get a class set of whiteboards to help us engage in group, team, and whole-class learning activities, assessment reviews, learning games, etc.
My Project
These whiteboards will help me engage my students in small group, team, and full class academic games, learning activities, test reviews, etc. I envision using them multiple times a week for guided reading lessons, test reviews, vocabulary learning, team building, and so much more. I love to keep my classes interactive, but that can be a challenge when I am limited to paper/pen activities or verbal-only interactions. The students love using the boards and enjoy engaging with one another as well as the content in this way. They remember the content better and are more excited about Language Arts.
