it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Providing whiteboards for my students will greatly enhance their learning experience by encouraging both autonomy and collaboration. These whiteboards, markers, and erasers will allow students to take charge of their own understanding as they tackle math problems independently or in small groups. Instead of relying solely on teacher instruction, they will actively engage in problem-solving, building confidence as they work through challenges together.
Working in groups with whiteboards will guide students to help one another and deepen their own understanding.
Collaboration is key in math, as it allows students to share different approaches and solutions, offering support and new perspectives to their peers. By discussing and revising their work in real-time, students can develop critical thinking skills while learning how to communicate and explain their reasoning effectively.
The use of whiteboards fosters a dynamic, interactive learning environment where mistakes are easily erased and new strategies are quickly tested. This immediate feedback encourages students to reflect, adapt, and grow in their mathematical abilities. Most importantly, it builds their capacity to learn from one another, work efficiently in teams, and develop essential skills for future group settings.
