Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a wonderful school with most kids eager and ready to learn. Almost all my students come from the local low income historically under-served community. Many of them will be first generation high school graduates and, hopefully, will successfully attend and earn a college degree so that they can uplift themselves, their family, and eventually our community.
It is important for me to prepare my students with college and career ready math skills.
Our resources are scarce, and currently we don't have sufficient whiteboard space in our class or enough calculators for everyone.
I hope that I can have sufficient material and work space for all of my students so that we can easily and without burden work on real life math problems that will get them ready for the more complicated math courses in high school, college, and later in life.
