This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is closed and we are on Zoom for distance learning. I teach 55-second graders Science and Social Studies. Many students in my class receives special services (speech, resource services, and intervention services). We have transitioned into a distance learning space due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
These sweet and bright minds have been working very hard over the past 7 months to make gains in their academic subjects.
We often work in collaborative groups. My goal is to continue this growth even though we have been forced out of the classroom.
My Project
My students thrive on collaborative, interactive work. These materials will allow students to be more interactive and accountable while we work from a distance due to COVID-19 pandemic. The use of whiteboards is an effective way for students to respond to a questions.
The use of whiteboards allow teachers to see individual student responses at once.
It is a great resource when having students respond to non-formal assessments. It allows teachers to identify misconceptions and address them accordingly. I believe that having these whiteboards will allow students to continue growing as independent and collaborative thinkers in our distance learning space.
