Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are members of the most diverse charter school in the city of Houston. We are 87% Hispanic, 47% Emerging Bilingual, and 80% Free and Reduced Lunch.
I teach a fun and focused group of kids who are eager to be on the path towards graduation.
My Project
Our kids love doing work on whiteboards! Kids love to draw, work problems, explain answers on whiteboards then 1, 2, 3 VOTE!!!
Our kids will also do almost anything for STICKERS!
Our puppy dog stickers are the hit of the school and you can bet any time I walk in with them kids start answering questions!
Our kids also need sentence strips up in every classroom to continue to build vocab. 50% of our kids are 2nd language learners and continue to build their academic language. By posting, kids can continue to build vocab in their environment.
