I teach sixth, seventh and eighth grade science in an under served, high need community in Louisiana.
I teach at a charter school whose aim is to create emerging leaders out of our students. With our extended school year, we are committed to making our students reach their maximum potential. Our students are brilliant and they deserve the best resources to prove it.
I am a new teacher teaching at a school with limited resources. In addition, the school where I teach is only in its third year of existence, so we don't have access to the same resources other established schools do.
My Project
In order to better engage my students, I bought mini whiteboards so my students can answer questions and play educational games. They have revolutionized the way my students learn. They look forward to answering questions and playing jeopardy and scholar/scribe review games for a chance to get to use them.
For many of my students, buying white board markers to use with their mini whiteboards would cause a financial hardship, as many of them experience difficulties obtaining basic school supplies. You can help this not become an obstacle in the way of my students' learning.
I am asking for 12 packs of white board markers to help my students use their mini whiteboards. This would ensure that there are enough markers for all my students to use for the year. Further, your contribution would ensure that my students can engage with class material in a way that is exciting and meaningful to them.
By donating to my students, you will be supplying them with a resource that they would not be able to obtain otherwise.
