My Project

I love the versatility of my students. They have been through a lot with COVID and having to miss huge chunks of learning. I had a large amount of students start first grade not being able to read. I am so very proud to say that they are all reading! The way that they accomplished this was through hard work. We have so many different levels of learners that we must do everything in ability groups. Due to the large class size, we have to make due finding spots for reading groups. Currently, we do reading groups in our classroom library. The students sit on the floor while I write on a handheld white board to do word work, spelling, etc. Some students have a hard time seeing and time management isn't at its most efficient since I must erase and write a lot. I believe that a large white board will help them stay engaged with their reading and word work. It can move to any spot needed allowing for less time wasted. Like I said, my students move, grow, and prosper with all the changes they have had to endure. This will give them what they need to grow even further in their reading.
