Whistler Sewing Club

My Students

What I love about my students is that they humble me and teach me. The students in the sewing club will go over and beyond for their learning. They are creative, inquisitive, and fearless when learning how to sew. The students try their very best no matter how difficult the learning or challenging the assignment.

My Project

Sewing is a life long skill that helps to build self-esteem. When students learn how to sew, they will be introduce to new world of vocabulary and learning. The sewing club offers students the ability to learn a new skill. Sewing will help students to build self-confidence, practice communicating and follow instructions.

Learning a new skill and gradually mastering it can greatly improve a person's self-confidence.

This is particularly true for kids, because they seek acknowledgement and praise, which is something that they can obtain from sewing. Once they realize that they have created something on their own, the very sense of accomplishment will help them to build their self-confidence.
