My Students
My classroom consists of extremely brilliant and talented diverse learners from Chicago. They each range within different age groups, but have so much to offer in the classroom.
I see the struggles and challenges each one brings into my classroom, but they are my inspiration!
I always want to deliver my best to each of my students because they deserve it. I am a fairly new teacher, but I am very eager to grow as an educator and learn from others including my students. My students love to help me in the classroom and are always eager to get out of their seats to move, especially to teach me the newest dance moves.
Our school may not have the best resources or all of the tools needed, but we do what we can. Our students face trauma on a daily basis, but we want to provide the skills needed to overcome. Our goal at the end of the day is to ensure our students are successful even when they leave our classrooms.
My Project
All of the students I work with want to learn and are eager to read exciting books. However, at times it becomes difficult with their struggles in reading. May of my readers read below grade level. Using the headphones they will be able to listen to stories and capture that fluency. While using the whisper phones, they themselves can hear their reading to self-monitor.
These resources will excite my students even more by teaching them to love to read on their own.
Students will be able to get lost in their own reading and build that confidence in themselves. My school unfortunately does not have the resources for students to engage in their own learning and self-monitor their reading which can really develop their comprehension.
