This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from all over Odessa. We are a public Montessori school. Parents from all over Odessa choose us because we teach the whole child(both mind and spirit). Students leave us having a knowledge of not only academics but of peace education that involves mind, body, and spirit. They have the tools to work well with others as well with themselves. They work in a multi-level classroom where the teacher teaches individual lessons and the students learn at their own pace, as well as, exploring their own interest.
My Project
We are a multi-level classroom that houses 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students. We are a Montessori classroom where flexible seating started. We are still a public Montessori classroom and funding for our flexible seating is hard to come by. I want to grow our independence and movement around the classroom by adding stools for our computer and counter work areas. I also want to add sensory seating for students that may need that extra support and comfortable pillows for the students that prefer to work on the floor. I also want to add a rug for our kitchen area that way their practical life area can be more comfortable.
