Where to Sit? A Young Student's Dilemma

My students need a rug to help in knowing where to sit and to help in all of the fun games there are to play in music.

My Students

When words leave off, music begins. Heinrich Heine Students are seated at desks all day and when they come to music they want to play games. It is hard to do that when they don't know where to sit when they get to music.

I teach at a Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade elementary school located on a military base in Texas.

My school is a Title 1 school, where over 75% is on free or reduced lunch. 98% of my students have one or both parents military and a majority are deployed. Also because of the military, I receive students all throughout the year.

My Project

I am requesting a carpet for my younger students because the majority of the time I have two classes at one time, which can be time consuming trying to get into a circle to play games. This rug will help my students know where to sit and to know also where to go when they need to make a circle.

This will help in the amount of time it takes to start the class.

The students will come in, sit down and be ready to go in a quick amount of time. Time in music is limited and so this carpet will greatly increase the amount of learning and fun that is included in music.
