My Students
My students are curious, imaginative, and creative kids who come into the learning platform everyday with endless energy and limitless questions. They just want to learn and have fun with their new community whether it is in the physical or virtual classroom setting.
My school is populated with approximately two hundred and thirty children, with sixty percent of our school population receiving free or reduced price lunch.
My Chinese immersion classroom has a mixture of one-third non-English speakers, one-third bilingual students, and one-third non-Chinese speakers. Due to the budget cuts throughout the years, our classroom resources are only available when purchased by ourselves. I believe that to be an effective teacher, I need to invest in my job and provide the necessities, as well as make learning fun and engaging for my students.
My Project
When we moved back to our new school building, our classroom lost some furniture. Our classroom library has a lot of books but not enough bookshelves to store them all.
These two bookshelves will replace the bookshelves lost in our move and will help us organize our books in our classroom library.
The children will be ecstatic when they see the new bookshelves because currently our books are in magazine holders on the floor.
In addition to the bookshelves, the giant magnetic math manipulatives will help students see the board clearly to learn how to compose and decompose numbers. It will also save a lot time in drawing the number frames, number lines and number bonds.
