Where Oh Where Have Our Big Books Gone?

My students need 1 storage cabinet for big books.

I would love to utilize big books in my classroom more frequently but right now they seem to be playing hide-and-seek with me and my students! I teach 1st grade at a school where the poverty level is over 92%. We have no money for new storage items and have to make due with what we have. I have only taught for 2 years and unfortunately my room came without one of these GREAT big book cabinets many of my colleagues have had for decades. I currently store my big books between a bookshelf and the wall where they constantly fall over and get bent up due to their size. If we had one of these cabinets we could store the big books by our community circle area and have them at our disposal. The students could also use them during silent reading because they would be in an accessible area of the room. It would allow for safe storage to this amazing resource that is so beneficial to early childhood literacy development. This would be an invaluable gift to all of us. My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
