Do you remember what it was like the first time you walked into a classroom and saw the room ready with learning centers? My students love to work at learning centers, but we have had to push desk together to make small group time happen.
I teach first grade in a low income area where many of our students are on free or reduced lunch.
I have 22 eager students who are ready to learn and excited about school. Our students families' work hard to support their children but are unable to commit the time or money to contribute to our need.
My Project
My students LOVE learning. They are smart, funny, creative and inspirational. They love listening to stories, using computers, writing, and working with poetry, just to name a few.
These learning opportunities happen during our learning center time. They love it when we can leave our desk and learn in small groups, but our current classroom furniture makes that time difficult, because it does not exist. We have to move desk to provide this small group time. My students need these tables to make it easy for them to learn together.
My students need two rectangular tables to work in groups at learning centers.
Small group time is vital for my first graders to develop a sense of community, team, and love of learning. These tables will actually create a path to success for my first graders and your donation would be greatly appreciated
