My Students
What would an illustration be without color? I am trying to motivate my students to be fabulous writers and part of writing is illustrating the work. Markers and crayons will add more detail to illustrations than any pencil could.
My students are third graders in a large city in Maryland.
They live in an underprivileged area of the city and all of their families are struggling every day to provide for them. They come to school ready to learn without the basic school supplies they need to be successful.
My Project
The markers and crayons will add beautiful details to the students' illustrations. The illustrations add life and excitement to any piece of writing. These materials will provide valuable intrinsic motivation for the students to write stories and draw detailed illustrations.
Motivating students to create a piece of writing can, at times, be difficult but with the colorful markers and crayons the students will look forward to writing and drawing illustrations.
