This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach third grade in a high-needs community at a Title I school. My students come from many other countries, yet we do not have quality resources for studying geography in our class.
When we talk amongst ourselves, making personal connections to our learning and/or studying current events, we lack the resources to reference these places on maps or globes.
I have requested 2 globes and 12 atlases to use in the classroom. These resources will help us to better understand the world around us.
Your help will ensure that my students not only broaden their understanding of physical and political geography, but also how to read yet another type of nonfiction text.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
