My students need 20 atlases to figure out where in the world we are, as well as other places we study during the school year!

My Students
Where in the world are we? What continent do we live on? In this day and age, that might be a computerized voice telling you that on a GPS device. However, what happens once technology fails you?
These are questions my students ask as we spin the globe in our room as we study about maps, ancient civilizations, Native Americans, and our home.
We live in a rural community where we might not be a dot on the map, but my students will be able to find the nearby interstate or large city nearby!
My Project
Having a set of atlases in our classroom for students to physically touch and use while we study about places around the world would be awesome! Currently, we have a globe or we use the Internet to look at maps of our country and the world. However, that doesn't give students the real life experience of physically using a map to locate places.
Please consider helping our classroom figure out just where we are on a map!
Students will be so excited to discuss and share places they will find in the atlas, as well as use essential life skills that don't involve a computer telling us where we should be!
