I am a new teacher in the third grade. I took over the classroom in December after completing my student teaching.
My cooperating teacher left some of her materials for me to use. I am currently using her inflatable globe to teach my students how to distinguish between various types of maps and globes, how to use maps and globes to locate communities and geographic terminology.
The globes would be a great benefit for our classroom. The relief globe would help by allowing the students to feel the features as we discuss the vocabulary. Children love hands-on learning. They could also use the globes to find places we read about.
By providing these materials you can ensure that my students learn their geography skills from a real globe (not just a beach toy)!
