When did you learn about heroes, gods, and monsters? My students need to meet Odysseus and learn where these stories started from.
My students are bright students in an urban public school in Los Angeles.
It is important for them to read where these mythical creatures and stories originated from. They are dedicated young people striving for a great future. This foundation is necessary for that success.
My Project
Students will have copies of The Odyssey that will inspire students to learn more about where the stories they see in the movies really came from. These students will be able to compare the origin of these stories to modern day stories like, Percy Jackson, Clash of the Titans, Troy, etc. Students will also complete research presentations and papers on the characters in the book. Students will not only learn the content, but also how to write research papers, and make Power Point presentations,
These books will become a useful resource in inspiring students to read, research, and present information.
Students will also know where many of our stories about heroes and monsters come from. These books will also be used for future students so the impact will only grow.
