My Project
It's the end of the school year, and I'm looking at my classroom wondering where all those supplies I had in abundance just a few short months ago disappeared to! The plethora of colored paper has been reduced to a few random sheets! Okay, we did do a LOT of art projects. My students learned to use scissors correctly and rip paper, which is harder than you would think! That also explains why all my glue sticks disappeared! I promoted independence even though my students seemed to shellac their projects with glue!
We went through a lot of paint and markers!
We used glue and shaving cream to make puffy paint that my sensory seekers loved! We also experimented with different "paint brushes" such as painting with forks and Q-tips. My biggest success this year is that I had two students who NEVER wanted to color and who are now asking for markers and paper! I did have to clean a few faces of marker mustaches, but it was definitely worth it! It was an amazing year, and I want everything ready for next year!
I also added some fidgets and sensory items like kinetic sand and number stackers because my students need manipulatives to learn math, and they have had huge success with the set that I borrowed!
