My Project
I was hired to bring Robotics classes, and ultimately a competition team, to our middle school students.
My classroom was an art room, and we are working on slowly remaking it into a Robotics room, but there's a lot that needs to be done.
We have the VEX IQ education and competition kits, along with the competition field. We also have the VEX EXP education kits. Currently, our storage situation is functional, but not really the best. The IQ pieces reside in a few dozen pencil cases and plastic cubby bins that I purchased, while the EXP parts are stored in Rubbermaid containers and the plastic bins they came in. Many of the cases are already breaking after repeated use. I'm hoping to get a few small parts organizers, which I know are used in other Robotics classrooms, to store things and make it easier to find the parts they need.
There are several students in our K-5 classes who walk by my classroom and peek inside every day, excited at the idea of being able to work with robots when they reach middle school. My goal is show them possible futures that they may have never considered for themselves.
