Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are 3rd-8th graders who come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. As an English as a Second Language teacher, I strive to create a safe, clean and caring learning environment. What better way to do that than to furnish the class with tables and chairs that fit the students?
I teach English as a Second Language to students in a public school in South Philadelphia.
My students come from all over the world: Mexico, Central and South America, Yemen, Ukraine, Indonesia, Burma, Thailand and Vietnam. They are newcomers to the USA, and my classroom is their first stop in an American public school.
It is my goal to create a classroom that encourages talking and the sharing of ideas and opinions. In order to do this, I need to furnish it appropriately. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them adequate seating options to help them be more engaged in the lesson and participate more in group discussions. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.
