I teach all day Kindergarten in a high-need community. My classroom is hands- and brains-on, and we love to learn from one another and through music. My goal is to inspire my students to believe in themselves and become lifelong learners.
My classroom lacks a beautiful rug to meet and sit together. Each morning, we gather to talk about the days activities, learning goals, and weather. We also meet to sing songs, say good morning to one another, and listen to stories. We strive to create a community in our classroom, but we lack the proper place to do it.
My students need a beautiful rug to provide personal seating for group time. This rug is oval, which would allow the students to see one another easily. It will foster a positive climate where the students feel like they're part of a community. This rug would enhance the learning environment of our classroom.
