Where Are the Supplies for My Project, Ms. Teacher?

My students need 150 poster boards, light-weight colored paper, 20 packs to two sizes of colored paper and 20 packs of glitter paper.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Beal's classroom raised $497

This project is fully funded

I teach ninth grade science and ESL science. Our school is one of several inner-city high schools. We serve a very diverse population. Many of our students are from countries that are in war. Our student population consists of about 80% free- and reduced-price lunch and 20% special education. I am very proud to tell people where I teach.

My students enjoy any form of art. The art programs have been decreased so content teacher are left to design lessons that include this important outlet for students. I would like to provide the paper products to create posters of their work and research, but it is very costly for me as a teacher. We can only go so far with old magazines and white copy paper.

I am asking for a donation of poster boards and construction paper to allow students get their creative juices flowing. Let's face it, if all you ever did to prove your understanding was to take a test you too would get sick of it. Students will use these resources to create a poster presentation during our unit on Biology. Students will design a testable question, collect data and research the idea. They will then pull it all together and put it into words and drawings to share with their classmates. Your donation will allow them to create a vibrant poster that shares their findings.

Your donation today will allow a science teacher to mix science and art. Students will have the necessary supplies to create a colorful poster to share their ideas and findings about a biological concept.
