My students love to write and draw. Developing their fine motor skills help them perform important tasks such as feeding themselves, grasping objects, and writing. The ability to accomplish self-care and everyday tasks by using fine motor skills helps a child's self-esteem and confidence. Writing letters help improve students' memory and strengthen their letter recognition skill. Learning the alphabet by interacting with each letter helps students imprint and retain the letters and the letter sounds When my students write letters, they demonstrate better letter recognition skills which means they will learn to read quicker. These items will afford them the opportunity to develop and strengthen their fine motor skills, letter identification and letter sound recognition on the journey to becoming great readers.
