Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a low-income school as a special education teacher in a mild/mod program. My student's disabilities range from autism to specific learning disability, to intellectually disabled, to speech impairment, and many more. My students have a passion for learning. Their disability halts them, but my students have learned to overcome obstacles with the proper support and services.
My students deserve a proper and safe classroom library.
Unfortunately, our classroom library does not have the best furniture. With wobbly selves with no backs, I worry my students will not want to visit our classroom library. I buy the most up-to-date books and character dolls to make our classroom library look more approachable and fun. I want to give my students the proper classroom library that they deserve. My students deserve a classroom library with sturdy and beautiful shelves that will allow them easy access to books and plush toys.
