My Students
I teach in a preschool room in a low-income school district. My students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that my students are facing, I strive to provide them with a fun, interactive, safe, and meaningful learning environment. As their teacher, I try to instill the importance of communicating/listening to one another, being a good citizen and leader, and using trauma-informed techniques to aid them in their social-emotional development.
My students have various learning styles' backgrounds and needs.
Due to being located in an inner-city, funding is extremely hard to come by, and in order to provide my students with the best learning experiences I can give them, I typically find ways to procure these items and experiences out of pocket or by any means I can, which is where DonorsChoose comes in.
My Project
Last year, our class was extremely fortunate to have a project funded that allowed our classroom to have a 55-in screen TV and touch screen overlay to use for our virtual/hybrid lessons and to use for interactive learning activities. We are continuing to use the screen for indoor recess, interactive lessons, and video lessons this year and it's been a huge help in having it for Vooks, Epic! Books, and GoNoodle.
This project is for a rolling stand for our screen to protect it from being pushed over on it's current home atop an old shelf unit.
By having the cart and extra extension cords, we would be able to keep our screen safe from being mis-handled or knocked over and we would be able to have it move throughout our room!
