it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Books with a wide variety of stories are essential in the speech classroom because they expose students to different language structures, vocabulary, and communication styles. By engaging with different types of narratives, students have the opportunity to learn new words, phrases, and sentence patterns that they can incorporate into their own speech. Whether it's through fantasy, everyday situations, or cultural stories, these books provide rich contexts that help students practice articulation, comprehension, and expression. The variety keeps students interested and motivated, offering different ways to approach communication skills and encouraging creativity in their verbal expression.
For children with speech delays or challenges, hearing a range of story types enables them to practice communicating in multiple contexts, making it easier to adapt their skills in real-world situations.
Additionally, these books allow students to see themselves and others in a broad range of experiences, fostering empathy and understanding. Exposure to different perspectives helps students appreciate various ways of thinking and expressing themselves, ultimately strengthening their confidence in speaking. A wide selection of stories offers an engaging and supportive environment where students can grow, find their voice, and feel heard.
