I teach two sections of reading, English language arts, writing, and spelling to an amazing group of 5th-grade students. Being leaders of our school and community is an important role we have, and taking our learning to the next level is something we work hard for.
We strive to be like our class pet, Spike, and use our hearts and minds in our everyday lives.
By putting our best self forward, we know that we can do anything we set our mind to.
My Project
The point of it all is to stay on task and keep healthy!
We are in need of a good pencil sharpener to replace our old one.
Every day my students take notes, complete assignments, and do homework using pencils. This means our pencil sharpener gets a lot of use. Pencil sharpeners usually only last one year.
As a class, my students were fortunate to have received Chromebooks this year. Every student in my homeroom class has a Chromebook that they share with a student in my second block class. As a result, I am able to teach my students the life skills of typing, using Google Docs, how to use Google tools, and how to print. This means that we are using a lot of ink. It also means grading is so much easier as all the assigned essays are typed. As a result, my classroom is running low on ink.
This has been a crazy year weather wise and my students are coughing and sneezing everywhere. In an effort to stay healthy and have all students in the room to learn and grow, I am requesting a large bottle of hand sanitizer so that the students can use it after blowing their noses and when they return from the restroom.
