My Students

The students are in a self-contained resource room.

They have the opportunity to work with a paraprofessional and a special education teacher. Five of the students have been identified as having multiple disabilities and one student has been identified as autistic. We also work with general education students on various reading projects. They are an unique group of students who have a special zest for learning.

My Project

Our school promotes reading in many ways, and our Accelerated Reading program is very important to us. Students read books, take online tests, and earn prizes. We have a class goal of reading and taking 100 tests by March. The books that we would receive would allow students to meet their weekly goal as well as our class goal. The books will increase their reading ability and their general knowledge of the world around them. The books will give them a chance to learn something new and be excited about applying the information as they share it with others. The bookshelves would give us a way to display and protect the books for many years.

Even as an adult, it can be very exciting to learn something new.

My students are beginning readers who get extremely excited about learning.The nonfiction books will open the minds of the students and allow them to discover how much you can truly learn from reading a book. We would greatly appreciate and use the knowledge taught through these books.
