My Students
In my Full Day Kindergarten, I teach 27 students. Teaching such a young age group is a lot of fun! They have a lot of energy and are very excited and curious about life. That being said, I have a wide range of personalities in my classroom.
My students will utilize these headphones the most during practice stations; however, having them available will allow student to choose to use them at other times throughout the day.
During practice stations in our classroom, students are allowed to move around when they are finished with their "must dos." When their "must dos" are done, they then have "may dos" that are places around the classroom. These are various activities and games. From the "shy kid" to "class clown," my classroom has it all. Students engage and work together to create a classroom community. We are not just a classroom but a family.
My Project
Being stuck in a noisy environment can leave students feeling stressed out, annoyed and often times unable to think. In every classroom, there are many types of learners, and, therefore, there are various types of learning that needs to be going on. At times, the classroom can get noisier than some students would like. This can bother those sensitive ears!
How far does noise travel?
In Kindergarten, our two classrooms are joined with a bathroom in the middle and a small hallway. Suffice it to say, there is already noise traveling between our two classrooms. When you add 27 students and their various learning styles, this creates a problem for those who prefer learning quietly. These noise canceling headphones will allow students who prefer peaceful quiet when learning to be successful. At the same time, those students who need interaction with others can participate in small group activities just as successfully.
