My Students
You know you have a fun classroom when you and your students sing part of the Mickey Mouse March as your attention-getting signal. My classroom focuses on instilling a love for learning as well as an understanding of the magic of imagination.
My 25 little Kindergarteners love our Disney themed classroom and love to come to school each day because of it.
I teach a group of fun-loving, creative, and caring students who exhibit perseverance on a daily basis. I am blessed to have the opportunity to lay the foundation of a love of learning and zest for life each time my Kindergarteners walk through my door. My class loves to share things from home with each other, share their ideas about their learning, dance, and sing, and just be together.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and have a range of experiences to share with their classmates. Many of my students are English Language Learners, meaning another language is spoken in the home. There are multiple languages spoken in our classroom and students love to teach each other how to say things in their home language. Their hearts and minds amaze me daily.
My Project
Have you ever been in a room where 25 videos were playing, with the volume turned up, at the exact same time? Well, speaking from experience, it definitely is NOT the learning environment I want my students to be trapped in! Through this project, each of my students will receive a pair of headphones to use with their Chromebooks. Throughout the day, my students spend time on self-paced, adaptive learning programs that require sound on their Chromebooks. With the headphones, they will all be able to hear what they need to hear, and progress successfully without the temptation of looking at other students' chromebooks.
Receiving these headphones will allow our class to move through the day more smoothly, with fewer interruptions.
With headphones, the students can progress at their own rate without other students being aware of whether their peers are ahead of them or behind them. Headphones will help create more ownership of their learning and turn their computer learning into an individual process rather than a competitive one.
