My Students
In addition to our academic mission, we also want to provide a rigorous athletic program that equips students with the skills, character, and passion for physical fitness that will lead to success at high school athletics, college athletics, and a lifetime commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
In this part of Texas, I teach and coach girls who are on the path to college.
Ninety percent of them are from low-income households, but they don't let that barrier interfere with their dream. They have curiosity, integrity, self-respect, and a great amount of persistence!
My Project
My students need 20 soccer balls, 2 coach's bags, 2 ball pumps, and inflating needles to have a successful soccer season. Our school just entered its first year after being considered a "start-up" school during its first four years. Being in our fifth year of opening, and hoping to keep building a successful athletic program, our girls need access to all resources necessary. To build their skills, our girls need to have individual soccer balls for practice. Continuing to build confidence through skill-building in sports translates to confidence in the classroom.
