As a middle school teacher, I have my work cut out for me when it comes to getting kids to feel comfortable sharing ideas in class. I have been looking for a way to bring more collaboration into my classroom. Middle schoolers can be a bit reluctant to dive into activities that require them to share ideas with their peers. I have found that when given whiteboards to work on, they seem to feel more comfortable sharing with one another.
Providing whiteboard tables for my students will allow my students to engage in a more creative and engaging type of learning on a regular basis and on a bigger scale.
Giving them colorful markers to help bring their ideas to life will be a HUGE hit as in the past I have only had access to black markers for their activities and this is always a grumble topic for them!
I am also trying to dip my toe into the Hummingbird robotics world as I know these types of technology have the potential to open many doors for them in the future. This Micro:Bit kit will be the perfect size for my class to get started with that.
